Verbier

Verbier: If you love skiing, Four Valleys is a must! With 100 lifts and 400 kilometers of slopes. Today, Four Valleys offers everything from a large open ski area to a glacier for year-round skiing. It hosts a small romantic village sporting typical Swiss-style chalets with fabulous mountain views. You’ll find excellent off-slope possibilities and easy skiing for beginners and intermediates. The skiing action here brings in adventure seekers from all over the globe. Most come from Italy, Germany, and Switzerland, but there’s a huge international potpourri of nationalities in winter.
The Four Valleys region has one of the biggest lift-linked ski areas in the entire world. When conditions are favorable, it offers some of the steepest slopes imaginable. Some trails are nearly 16 kilometers in length, descending more than 2,508 meters. Four Valleys also has many high-tech lifts enabling it to quickly handle large numbers of skiers. The most impressive lift is “Le-Jumbo,” a cable car with a capacity to carry as many as 150 passengers at a time. The car takes you to the spectacular scenery of the Mont Fort Glacier which is also open for summer skiing. Additionally, the Funispace lift, a giant gondola with cabins hooked on two twin cables, carries up to 30 passengers each.
Advanced skiers will be in their element at Four Valleys, especially with its challenging, world-famous Tortin snowbowl and huge mogul bumps. Also try the extreme Couloirs down from Les Attelas, and the fast skiing around Mont Gele.
